I love my large Indian wool scarves but I just can't wear them anymore. I can no longer tolerate the feeling of something dangling in front of me as I bend over to buckle up children in carseats, reach for something out of the stroller or my bag or any other similar movements during my day. I even got to feeling like my vision was being impaired because I could always see the ends dangling out of the corner of my eye! Then I got to thinking, what can keep me nice and cozy but not take up so much room on my person? A triangle - perfect! I poured over my library of lace patterns and decided upon this simple arrowhead lace to occupy the top third of the shawl so that it peeks out from my coat. Two-thirds of the shawl is then occupied by a simple stocking stitch with rows of eyelets drawing the eye down to the scalloped edging. I am so pleased with it - shawl, scarf and cowl all in one. This was also my first time knitting with Malabrigo. Frank Ochre - what can I say? This colour is so outside of my everyday domain but I absolutely could not resist. It radiates; it warms; it cheers and brightens - a very therapeutic solution indeed!
That is so beautiful! I love that malabrigo colour and your design is perfect for it. If you were ever to consider writing up the pattern, I would be very excited about that! It's highly covetable...
